Our daughter Mackenzie has technically been paddling with us long before she was born! We got her on a board and took a little paddle when she was only a few weeks old too! Until now, she'd happily play, sit on board for just a bit and paddle off our local beach in Abu Dhabi. About 6 months ago I managed to get her to paddle with me for 30 minutes, but that included bribing her with some gummy bears on route and an ice cream after!
This past weekend was special as we had our first official paddle date, our first Mom and Daughter SUP Adventure and when you love something so much - of course her...and SUP then you just can't wait until you can put the two together! We ventured out into Abu Dhabi Mangroves and took part in the Annual Paddle for the Planet event. Here we paddled, we swam, we paddled more. No gummy bear bribes needed, just more requests to jump into the water!
Time together is priceless, time together on the water with her made me beaming from ear to ear and I know this is the start of many more SUP adventures together, I hope!
